Who is Balaam?
Numbers 22:5 – the son of Beor
Joshua 13:22 – soothsayer
Numbers 22:10-11 – He was commissioned by Balak, son of Zippor, king of Moab to put a curse on the children of Israel to drive them out of the land of Moab
What is a soothsayer?
According to Strong’s Concordance a soothsayer means someone who uses divination
According to 1828 Webster’s Dictionary
DIVINATION, noun [Latin , to foretell. See Divine.]
1. The act of divining; a foretelling future events, or discovering things secret or obscure, by the aid of superior beings, or by other than human means.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 King James Version
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
God considers divination an abomination because that person is consulting with familiar spirits or demonic entities to foretell the future.
What is Balaam’s Doctrine?
Balaam was unable to curse the children of Israel in Numbers chapters 23 to 24 because God’s blessings was upon them, so he devised a way so that Israel would curse themselves and that is to commit sins that are abominable to God.
Numbers 25:1-3 King James Version
1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
3 And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.
Numbers 31:16 King James Version
“Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.”
We know that sin separates us from God as said in Isaiah
Isaiah 59:1-4 King James Version
1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
And God is a jealous God when we commit idolatry, God already warned the children of Israel of these when Moses came down with the 2 tablets of the 10 Commandments in Exodus
Exodus 34:12-16 King James Version
12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:
13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:

If you are not worshipping the LORD then you are worshipping the devil, you can’t do both!
1 Corinthians 10:20-22 King James Version
20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
God wants us to be separated from the world and not indistinguishable with the lost and unsaved people.
2 Corinthians 6:14 King James Version
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
So these are Balaam’s Doctrine to curse the children of Israel: Tolerance to Sin, Fornication and Idolatry, and we see this happening in our very eyes today!

Also why use they/them as a personal pronouns? This reminds me of this verse whenever someone uses a plural pronoun.

If people don't want God to put a curse on them, then they should do as the verse below says

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
And also become a child of God by receiving His Free Gift of Salvation.
